Mobile Friendly Test

Enter your domain. We check whether your site is actually built for phone screens.

What we look at

Whether the page declares a viewport. That single line is what tells a phone to lay the page out at phone width instead of shrinking a desktop page down to something unreadable.

Why this one line matters so much

Without it, everything else you do for mobile is undone before it starts. The text ends up too small to read, the buttons too small to hit, and the visitor pinches and zooms or leaves.

Who this hurts most

Local service businesses. Somebody looking for a plumber at eight in the evening is on a phone, on a sofa, and they are comparing you to two other results at the same time.

Common questions

Google retired its own Mobile-Friendly Test. Does mobile still matter?

Yes. Google removed the standalone tool, not the requirement. Google crawls and indexes with a mobile crawler, so the phone version of your page is the version that gets ranked.

Do I need a separate mobile site?

No, and you should not build one. One responsive site that adapts is the standard approach and avoids keeping two versions in sync.

Does this test how fast my site is?

No. This checks whether the page is built for a phone at all. Speed is a separate measurement.
